Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health and Walmart have joined forces to raise awareness for maternal healthcare, with a particular focus on the Georgian maternal health crisis. Georgia is home of the country’s third-largest black population, and also has the second highest rate of maternal mortality. It is therefore a crucial area for intervention.
They are partnering to bring together hospitals and community members to provide high-quality, affordable pregnancies, education and research. Black Health Matters is a health and wellbeing platform that aims to improve the health and well-being of African Americans and blacks.
Black Health Matters’ Winter Health Summit and Expo will be held at Loudermilk Conference Center on February 11, 2023. The event will take place from 8:30 to 3:00 EST and is open to the general public. There will be panel discussions, activities as well as free vaccinations and health screenings. Admission to the event is free, and attendees can register at https://blackhealthmatters.com/.
